We headed up into Northern Ontario for one of our more recent installation projects, which had us supplying and installing a gym divider curtain in a slightly different fashion than what we are accustomed to.
With the majority of gym divider curtains, the project is relatively straightforward; most operators are looking for a curtain to safely divide the gym floor space, opening up the area for additional use. Where things can get technical is with the installation of these large curtains, often requiring the design prowess of our team to effectively fit the system in existing spaces and ceiling openings.
The Bethel Gospel Chapel contacted our team looking for a solution to separate an area within their gymnasium but the location was slightly unique. The gymnasium, much the same as many others, was equipped with a stage area, often used for assemblies, theatrical performances and musical instrument practice and instruction.
The chapel was looking for a divider that could enclose the stage area, allowing children to practice instruments or other activities while still utilizing the gymnasium for athletic sports and play.
After assessing the restrictions of the prospective location of the curtain, our design team was able to navigate a narrow opening in a bulk head that would allow the use of one of ourtop-roll gym divider curtains.
These curtains, which are one of our most popular products, allow for a virtually maintenance-free curtain that comes in an aesthetically-pleasing low-profile design.
The bottom vinyl portion of the curtain was customized in a light brown colour, which blended seamlessly into the wood-coloured design of the stage. This new curtain now gives the chapel the ability to run multiple programs in the space or quickly raise the curtain up and out of the way for performances in which the stage and gymnasium are utilized simultaneously.
