Athletic Business Show Recap

With our head offices located in Canada, we usually jump at the chance to head south for either pleasure or business, especially as the cold winter months approach.  Such an opportunity presented itself this year (and every year for that matter), this one in particular being the Athletic Business Show (AB Show).

One of the athletic industry’s premier tradeshows, the AB Show was held late last week down in sunny Orlando, Florida.  For the past 34 years, the AB Show has been treating professionals to educational seminars and workshops, social receptions with some of the industry’s most respected keynote speakers.

Attendees of the show from the College/University and Parks & Recreation/Municipal Recreation sectors account for roughly 46% of all attendees, while Health Clubs and Private Sports Centres are the other large demographic of attendees at each year’s show.

With these statistics in mind, our team decided to pack up and head down to experience what this show was all about and we were not disappointed.  In addition to taking in educational presentations, we had the opportunity to shake hands and dine with some of the finest suppliers, manufacturers and dealers from sectors including:

  • Military Bases & Installations
  • Health & Fitness Clubs
  • Colleges and Universities
  • Park & Recreation Departments/Districts
  • Private Sports/Recreation Centers
  • Hospital Rehab/Wellness Centers
  • Retirement Facilities/Aging Agencies
  • YMCAs, YWCAs, JCCs
  • High Schools and Private Schools
  • Architectural Firms

Great conversations, great times and solid business connections were made at this year’s AB Show.  We want to personally thank all of those who helped put such an amazing show together, those we met along the way and the great city of Orlando for hosting us.

We look forward to next year’s rendezvous and hope to see many familiar and new faces in attendance.
