Dedicated to providing every child with the very best in educational opportunities, Ivy Hill Elementary School in Newark, New Jersey is making good on their goal to develop their student body into successful members of the community.
Located in the upper West Ward of Newark, Ivy Hill serves over 570 students across grades PreK3 to grade eight. Occupying the former location of Vailsburg Middle School, Ivy Hill is celebrating 10 years of operation after opening their doors in the fall of 2007. As a result of school reorganization efforts in Newark, which saw a shift away from the middle school model, the school today is fully integrated and aims to prepare students for high school and beyond within the boundaries of their historic location.
As part of one of our more recent projects, the school called upon our partners at Tri-State Folding Partitions and our team to design, develop and install some unique safety padding for an area within the school. As an inclusive educational institution, the school is home to students coping with different afflictions or levels of autism. With an available space in the school that was not in use, administrators began the process of planning a calming, yet safe area for particular students that could benefit the most from it.
With site visits completed and measurements taken, the design process began to create an all-encompassing padding solution for the proposed space.
Our team quickly got to work on the design, which was quickly approved by school officials in New Jersey and was sent into production at our manufacturing facility.
Upon completion, the padding was shipped directly to the school where our partners at Tri-State carried the baton. Operating on decades worth of experience, their team successfully installed the padding quickly and efficiently, giving the school and its students access to this newly-renovated space.
