In addition to these leagues, the sport of rugby will take the world stage for the first time in 94 years at this summer’s [2016 Summer Olympic Games](https://www.olympic.org/rio-2016) in Rio Di Janeiro, Brazil.  The last time the sport was played in Olympic competition, the United States claimed gold and is planning to defend its title with vigour when the games kick off on August 5, 2016. In light of all the excitement surrounding rugby season, many field operators, managers and municipal planners are or have evaluated the condition of their equipment in anticipation of summer sports such as [soccer,](https://www.sportsystemscanada.com/collections/soccer) baseball and [rugby](https://www.sportsystemscanada.com/collections/all).  As programming interest grows, the addition of rugby uprights to any sports field can quickly become a valuable asset and we proudly carry the best-designed rugby goals available today. **Standard Rugby Goal** **![spec-drawing-standard-rugby-upright.jpg](https://blog.sportsystemscanada.com/hs-fs/hubfs/spec-drawing-standard-rugby-upright.jpg?width=292&name=spec-drawing-standard-rugby-upright.jpg)** Our standard rugby uprights stand at 9'10'' (3m) high x 18'4'' (5.6m) wide and the uprights are 27’ high from the crossbar.  These are constructed completely of heavy-gauge aluminum and are powder-coated white to protect against the elements. Perhaps the most unique feature of these uprights is they all come equipped as semi-permanent structures.  By utilizing the included ground sleeves, these goals can be erected and taken down when the need arises and weigh only 160lbs, making their removal and relocation virtually painless. **Combination Goals** **![spec-drawing-combination-rugby-and-soccer-goal.jpg](https://blog.sportsystemscanada.com/hs-fs/hubfs/spec-drawing-combination-rugby-and-soccer-goal.jpg?width=425&name=spec-drawing-combination-rugby-and-soccer-goal.jpg)** For the multi-use field, these versatile goals allow the play of both soccer and rugby without the necessity of purchasing and moving both rugby and soccer goals separately.  While the uprights can easily be removed, these systems can also be left intact for use with soccer applications. These goals are also constructed of heavy-duty aluminum and come equipped with ground sleeves and caps for semi-permanent installation. **Pole Padding** **![custom-padding-goal-post.jpg](https://blog.sportsystemscanada.com/hs-fs/hub/319534/file-2133224777.jpg?width=411&height=231&name=file-2133224777.jpg)** As with many of our pole-related products, we also provide both standard and [custom safety padding](https://www.sportsystemscanada.com/collections/custom-wall-padding) solutions tailor-made for rugby uprights.  These padding systems ensure participant safety in the event of a collision with a pole during game play.
