With the ongoing expansion of this campus, it’s looking like the Loyalist Lancers are about to have one of the nicest athletic facilities in Ontario’s Seaway Valley. Built neatly within the Ontario College Athletic Association, Loyalist is home to teams in both men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball, and cross country, women’s soccer, women’s rugby 7s, and maintains a busy intramural and campus recreation schedule. The new gymnasium was built to give those teams, and the rest of the campus, a proper home court, and we were fortunate enough to have been brought in on the action. After completing an [impressive outdoor grandstand](https://blog.sportsystemscanada.com/blog/grandstand-seating-for-loyalist-college-and-the-quinte-skyhawks) at the college back in 2023, we were once again working with key stakeholders, this time being tasked with designing and installing a set of new indoor telescopic bleachers, along with some new ceiling-mounted basketball systems - something we’ll talk more about in a future post.   ![loyalist-telescopic-bleachers-closed](https://blog.sportsystemscanada.com/hs-fs/hubfs/loyalist-telescopic-bleachers-closed.jpg?width=619&height=464&name=loyalist-telescopic-bleachers-closed.jpg) As for the telescopic seating, the bleachers had to seat a minimum of 400 spectators, leading our sales staff to the site back in 2024. During that visit, we were able to walk the site while the overall design was still taking shape, and met with the stakeholders who were ushering the project forward. From those meetings it was collectively decided that the [telescopic bleachers](https://www.sportsystemscanada.com/bleachers/telescopic-bleachers/) would run as one bank along a single wall that would measure the full length of the basketball court. In addition to the finished bank running 64 feet in length and towering at 13 rows in height, the bleacher was also built complete with barrier-free seating options, ensuring the structure was fully accessible for all to enjoy.   ![loyalist-retractable-bleachers-side](https://blog.sportsystemscanada.com/hs-fs/hubfs/loyalist-retractable-bleachers-side.jpg?width=1300&height=975&name=loyalist-retractable-bleachers-side.jpg) Once the gym flooring was down, we shipped the bleacher to the site where our installation team met the load, unloaded it and proceeded to install it in a timely and safe fashion. The result of all of that effort is an impressive bank in a gym that already ranks among the nicest facilities in the Seaway Valley, and one that seems to always be getting better. We’re proud to have been part of the revitalization of such a storied educational facility and look forward to the opportunity to keep it that way long into the future.
