Our recently completed project was on behalf of the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board which currently serves over 15,000 students and borders Maynooth, Deseronto, Prince Edward County and Quinte West in southeastern Ontario.

Our latest project took place at Centennial Secondary School located in Belleville, Ontario, an institution based upon three main values which it embeds in its students, faculty and community. These values are: Academic Excellence, Athletic Prowess and Artistic Integrity; encouraging their student body to improve and develop literacy and numeracy skills, sportsmanship qualities and artistic creativity, which fosters the development of their self-awareness and self-confidence.

The school was in need of an upgraded bleacher seating solution for their gymnasium, the beating heart of this educational facility’s thriving athletic program. The gymnasium featured an outdated set of wooden telescopic bleachers that could accommodate seven rows of seating for spectators. Overtime, the development of the athletic program demanded not only additional seating requirements, but also a state-of-the-art retractable seating solution.

We were commissioned to safely remove the existing wooden retractable bleachers and supply and install a new bank of KODIAK retractable bleachers. The gymnasium was designed to accommodate this innovative type of seating with recessed walls to increase usable floor space and our design team quickly designed the ideal configuration to suit their needs.

Two new banks of telescopic bleachers were installed within the confines of these wall pockets to further maximize available storage space. The new retractable bleachers are now eight rows high and 26’ in length and are able to accommodate up to 204 spectators.

Not only was our team able to design and supply this innovative seating solution, but we were also able to provide the school with additional bleacher seating using the existing space already designed into the gymnasium.
