Our custom padding department recently answered the call for another unusual and highly customized padding job. We were approached by Crestwood High School in Peterborough, Ontario to design some padding as part of some recent renovations to the gymnasium.
Serving as home to the Mustangs, the school began a list of renovations which included some brand-new storage units that would allow for additional athletic equipment to be stored when not in use. Because these units run along the edge of the sports court they required the installation of safety padding to protect student athletes.
With plenty of experience designing pole and door padding for similar projects, our team wasted no time getting to work on the design for these units. In addition to the new storage cabinets, there was also a stairway that led down to the main level of the gymnasium from the mezzanine. Again, the location of the stairs ended up just along the edge of the court surface of the gymnasium and the school looked to our team to design a padding solution for the outside edge of the stairway as well.
Following the design process, we worked closely with the team at Snyder Construction to get proper approvals for the new proposed padding solutions. The designs were quickly approved and our manufacturing team got to work creating the new padding for the school’s gymnasium.
Upon completion, the new padding was shipped directly to the school and was met by our installation partners at King Carpentry who performed the flawless installation.
This project is a great example that no two padding projects are ever the same and no matter the challenge, our team is always game to design and build the right solution. We’d like to thank all involved in this project including the good folks at Crestwood Secondary, the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board and our partners at Snyder Construction and King Carpentry.
