The same can be said in our neck of the woods when it comes to new construction of school or community gymnasiums. These environments are often made up of multiple trades that share the same space, schedules that shift, and where the order of work matters. As with most projects, getting any form of specialized equipment in at the right moment—before the floor goes down, while scissor lifts and other gear can still operate freely—can protect both the schedule and the budget. The new gymnasium build at the myFM Centre in Ma-te-Way Park in Renfrew, Ontario, is a clear example of how that coordination works in practice. For this project, the General Contractor and Sport Systems’ project management team aligned manufacturer delivery with our installation crews so the work could happen in the correct window. Our crews arrived before the flooring contractor installed the court and working directly off the concrete with scissor lifts and other equipment, they installed two ceiling-mounted main-court basketball systems and our custom wall pads. All of that equipment went in over a span of three days, leaving the systems fully protected so the next trades could move into the space without delay. After a few weeks of additional coordinated work, our partners at Advantage Sport were given the greenlight to install the flooring. After the surface was down, our team returned with a second crew to install the [telescopic bleachers](https://www.sportsystemscanada.com/bleachers/telescopic-bleachers/), on top of the freshly installed playing surface. The result is a finished gymnasium (the Renfrew Home Hardware Gymnasium) with a regulation-sized court suitable for competitive high school basketball, volleyball, and badminton, along with spectator seating. ![ceiling-suspended-unit-renfrew](https://blog.sportsystemscanada.com/hs-fs/hubfs/ceiling-suspended-unit-renfrew.jpg?width=1080&height=600&name=ceiling-suspended-unit-renfrew.jpg) The key was simple but critical: precise timing and clear communication among the GC, our project team, the equipment manufacturers, the flooring contractor, and the other trades on site. By getting in early, working efficiently on the bare slab, covering the equipment, and returning for the bleachers only after the floor was complete, the installation stayed on schedule and on budget. For facility managers, athletic directors, and general contractors planning new builds or major renovations, this is the advantage of working with an experienced sports equipment partner. Early involvement, reliable crews, and the ability to sequence work around the rest of the construction schedule reduce conflicts, protect finished surfaces, and keep the overall project moving. At the myFM Centre, that approach delivered a fully equipped gym ready for the community without unnecessary delays or rework.
