Backed by over 60 years of clinical experience in the behavioral health and intellectual disabilities field, Grafton Integrated Health Network is a leader in care across the state of Virginia.

With six locations scattered across Old Dominion, Grafton specializes in serving preschool-aged children all the way up to K-12 and is the largest children’s residential provider in the entire state of Virginia.

Working with key stakeholders at the organization’s Berryville, Virginia location, our partners at Sparks@Play brought a unique project to our attention late this summer. Looking to add a motorized gym divider curtain to the gymnasium at the facility, Grafton approached our partners with a challenging project, which as it turned out, needed a highly specialized team to complete.

The challenges were not reserved to one particular area of this project. Looking into the ceiling area where the curtain was to be installed, a sloped roof and pre-existing HVAC systems, piping, conduits, lighting fixtures and wiring were undoubtedly going to be a challenge to work around.

In addition to the installation challenges, the client also required that the vinyl portion of the curtain be 10’ off the floor as visibility between the two sides of the curtain needed to be restricted above the standard of 8’ of vinyl.

After numerous in-person site visits, the team at Sparks@Play collaborated with our design team to ensure the curtain was properly designed according to the client’s specifications.

The product was shipped directly to the school where the team from Sparks@Play took the project from delivery to installation.

In what was certainly one of our more challenging projects of the year, the collaboration between our team and our American partners made the project flow smoothly and on-time for the clients at Grafton.
