Carson Grove Park Receives Tennis Court Upgrades

As many athletes know, the best way to improve one’s game is to compete against opponents who are superior in skill or ranking. While this often-humbling experience can quickly help identify one’s weaknesses and ways to address them, a more experienced opponent is not always available. In the interest of keeping up with practice and development between matches, Sport Systems has come up with an effective way for tennis players to improve their solo game so they can then bring their A game to the court.

A popular means for tennis players to practice solo is through the utilization of a backboard. Rather than risk damaging a surface unintended for the force of a tennis ball, heavy-duty backboards are built to endure even the longest and strongest hits and rallies. Even better, outdoor backboards allow tennis players to practice under similar conditions as those experienced during a typical outdoor match. As a result, it’s a lot easier to transition from practicing solo to competing against an opponent.

Wanting to accommodate tennis players of all ages and abilities, Ottawa’s Carson Grove Park recently recruited Sport Systems to renovate their tennis courts. As part of their renovation, they installed a new outdoor tennis backboard. While it was a challenge for our team to ensure all of its exposed parts were covered, the addition of a trim board brought the installation together.

With the tennis nets and posts upgraded and a new tennis backboard put up, the courts at Carson Grove Park not only look good but also serve a practical purpose. Whether hosting official matches or solo practices, the courts at Carson Grove Park will continue to provide an important resource to its community.
