Choosing a Baseball Batting Cage

When it comes to baseball, anyone who has played the sport will tell you that practice makes perfect. A multi-faceted sport for participants, baseball requires players to maintain cardiovascular health, field ground balls, catch pop flies and swing the bat at 90 MPH fastballs when required.

Training for such a sport is intensive and when it comes to batting practice, there is no such thing as too many swings. While getting a few friends together to throw the ball around casually is one way to sharpen your skills, those who really want to excel in the batter’s box enlist the help of professional equipment.

During practice or even at home, the use of batting cages for aspiring or current baseball players is a prerequisite for success. Spending more time in the cage staring down fast balls from an automated pitching machine is a sure-fire way to get better with a bat in your hands.

Batting Cage Frames

The first part of the batting cage puzzle will be selecting the right batting cage frame on which you will eventually drape your netting. From a durability standpoint, our frames are constructed using 1.5” steel tubing across all poles and corners for the ultimate in strength. Our frame kits also include all of the hardware necessary to install and hang the netting and can be used in either an outdoor or indoor setting.

Batting Cage Nets

To complete the process of designing your batting cage, the next step is to select the right netting to keep the balls inside of the cage and one that will stand up to the outdoor elements, should your cage be placed outside. These nets come in a variety of sizes and the one you select will ultimately depend on the size of frame chosen.

All of the netting is twisted for maximum strength and is made of polyethylene twine that helps further protect the netting from the sun and keeps it from absorbing any water it might be exposed to when outdoors as well.
