Working closely, once again, with the good folks over at the Thames Valley District School Board, we're thrilled to announce the successful completion of our latest project at Glendale High School in Tillsonburg, Ontario. After fielding an initial inquiry, our team was awarded the contract to upgrade their gymnasium seating, ensuring a safer and more efficient space for students, staff, and spectators.
Glendale High School, founded in 1959, is a public secondary school serving the community of Tillsonburg and surrounding areas. With the motto "Scientia Est Vita" (Knowledge is life), the school emphasizes academic excellence alongside a vibrant extracurricular program.
The school's athletics programming is a cornerstone of student life, offering opportunities for both participatory and competitive activities. The Glendale Gemini teams foster self-awareness, cooperative skills, and physical development through a variety of sports including football, hockey, track and field, and cross country. The program has a storied history and one we were looking forward to helping build a future for.
The project began when the Thames Valley DSB reached out to us for a quotation to replace the old bleachers that had previously been removed from Glendale High School's gymnasium. Space was a key consideration as the gym had limited room between the wall and the court lines, allowing our engineering team to rise to the challenge.
We installed two banks of our premium Kodiak 2400 Series bleachers, each featuring four rows. These bleachers are fully motorized, allowing for effortless operation with the push of a button and were also designed to be fully code-compliant, prioritizing safety in every aspect. To enhance accessibility, each bank includes a center aisle equipped with a durable stainless steel handrail, making it easy for everyone to reach their seats.
In total, this upgrade provides 138 new seats, transforming the gym into a more functional and welcoming space for school events, games, and assemblies.
Given Glendale's strong athletics focus, this upgrade will support larger crowds at Gemini games and events, fostering school spirit and community engagement.
