Folding Partition Replacement for Hopewell Avenue Public School

As sports equipment and infrastructure specialists, one of our main goals is to promote safety through our product offering. Whether it is ensuring that a new set of bleachers  is completely up to code or the adequate amount of padding is used in a gymnasium, we’ve always got our eye on safety.

When it comes to larger equipment items such as gym dividers, it’s an area we tend to pay a great deal of attention to. Many school gyms across North America are equipped with some sort of divider for large gymnasium spaces and in many of those cases, those systems have been in place for a number of years or even decades.

As time marches on, those outdated pieces of equipment can begin to malfunction and ultimately become a burden to those operating them. With a rash of unfortunate accidents from old folding partitions used in gymnasiums, a big part of what we do is work to get them removed and replaced with a more reliable and updated system.

Over the years we have removed hundreds of these heavy and outdated folding partitions and have replaced them with one of our state-of-the-art motorized gym divider curtains.

In one of our more recent projects we were once again tasked with both the removal and disposal of an old partition and the installation of a new curtain. In many of these cases we do our best to reduce the overall cost by reusing some of the existing bulkhead and track systems as attachment points for our new centre drive curtains.

In the event that we do not need to remove the entire bulkhead, we can pass along those demolition cost savings to our customer and that’s what we did for the good people over at Hopewell Avenue Public School.

After assessing the situation in person, our team was able to create a truly customized solution for their new center drive gym divider curtain. Working closely with key stakeholders from both the school and the board, we made sure to optimize the installation process by leveraging our experienced engineering team.

Today a new motorized curtain quietly humms as it easily opens and closes into and from the ceiling above, allowing the school’s athletic programming to continue to flourish while continuing to keep children safe.
