During some routine inspections that took place last year, the school’s original wooden bleachers were deemed unsafe and were officially condemned. School board facilities staff made the tough but necessary call to decommission and remove the old seating, leaving the gymnasium without any spectator bleachers for games, assemblies, and events.
It quickly became clear that Montcalm needed a reliable, fully code-compliant replacement – and fast. As such, the Thames Valley DSB reached out to our team for pricing on our Kodiak 2400 Series telescopic bleachers, a product line that’s engineered and manufactured right here in Canada and meets or exceeds every current building and safety code.
After reviewing the gym layout and seating requirements, we proposed two banks of motorized telescopic bleachers, each featuring 7 rows of height and 26.5 feet in length that would soon be able to accommodate over 200 spectators across the two units.
Our sales team turned around a detailed quotation quickly, and once the board gave the green light, we locked in the order with our Canadian manufacturing partner. From start to finish, this was a true Made-in-Canada project.
Following the manufacturing process, our experienced installation crew headed to Montcalm Secondary School earlier this fall and completed the job on schedule. The new Kodiak bleachers open and close smoothly with the push of a button, tuck away neatly against the wall when not in use, and give the gym a clean, modern look that students and staff are already raving about.
