Reminiscing about the summer of 2019, we are delighted with the classic thoughts of summer, including sunny days and time spent with friends and family. While those memories are stark in contrast to the pandemic-stricken summer many of us experienced this year, we remain faithful that we will get through this together, stronger than when we entered it.
One of the most noticeable changes to our spring and summer season was the absence of tradeshows. With many operating on an annual basis, our team looks forward to these events where we are all able to congregate with friends new and old and talk about our business.
One such event that brings back fond memories is the annual NBASBO show in the beautiful Canadian province of New Brunswick. Each year, we send representatives to this wonderful show in an equally wonderful setting in the Canadian Maritimes.
Working the booth as only our guys and gals know how, our good friends at Turf Masters along with senior staff from the Anglophone East School District joined us for a day and quickly got to discussing future upgrades the district was planning for the sports field at Moncton High School.
As with many of these types of conversations, the topic centred around grandstand seating. As part of the project, stakeholders at the district were busy planning the new grandstands and it became immediately apparent that Sport Systems and Turf Masters would be the perfect combination to pull this type of project off.
In addition to pouring the perfect concrete slab, the bleachers needed to be elevated to ensure the best possible sightlines. The conversation progressed from there and before we knew it, our team was busy gathering the necessary specifications and creating the perfect design for Moncton High School’s new grandstand bleachers.
In addition to the necessary elevation, the bleachers needed to be completely ADA accessible, so a custom ramp was included in the design, providing an all-inclusive seating structure for students and spectators alike.
Following the design phase, the bleachers were manufactured in our facility and shipped out to the east coast. Despite the frigid temperatures we experienced in the fall of 2019, the teams were able to erect this impressive seating structure over a 10-day period. The final product measured at 100 feet in length and was elevated up to 30 inches, accommodating over 600 spectators.
The staff at the school was a pleasure to work with and they have made it known that they are very pleased with their brand-new grandstand bleacher.
We look forward to not only working with again our esteemed partners at the Anglophone East School District but to also gaining a sense of normalcy on the tradeshow circuit once we are able to conquer this virus. We look forward to seeing everyone on the other side!
