Nestled in Ontario’s French River or Rivière des Français region, lies the peaceful town of Noëlville. Located about 70km from Sudbury, the town, formerly known as Cosby, traces its roots all the way back to the early 1900s. Named after the river that runs through its small towns, the municipality is also home to the region’s only French school known as École publique de la Rivière des Français.
Serving as home to the Rivière des Français Rapids, the school’s athletic programming supports sports such as volleyball, basketball, and badminton. As the school’s programming has continued to expand, so has its need for additional modern seating to help elevate the spectator experience and support the school’s active athletic culture.
Late last year, the Conseil scolaire du Grand Nord school board reached out to explore options for adding telescopic bleachers to the gymnasium at École publique de la Rivière des Français. Previously, custodial staff had been setting up chairs for parents and fans to watch games and tournaments. And while the manual process served a purpose for a short period of time, it ended up being a time-consuming and inefficient process. The school was ultimately after a permanent, user-friendly solution to give students something to cheer about while streamlining event setup. After assessing the gymnasium’s needs and space constraints, our team promptly recommended our Kodiak 2400 Series telescopic bleachers, in a 3-row configuration designed for durability, safety, and ease of use.
Our helpful sales team promptly provided a budget-friendly quote for the bleachers, including delivery and installation by our factory-trained crew. The past spring, the installation was completed in just two days, ensuring no disruptions to the gymnasium’s busy schedule of athletic and community activities. The new retractable bleachers, known for their compact design and smooth operation, allow the school to easily extend or retract seating as needed, accommodating fans comfortably while maximizing floor space for sports like volleyball and badminton.
The installation has already made a significant impact, eliminating the need for custodial staff to set up chairs and providing a professional seating area for spectators. The bleachers now offer a new space for parents, students, and fans to cheer on the Rapids during games and tournaments.
