New Telescopic Bleachers for YMCA Connecticut

With what is one of the most recognizable names in personal development and athletics across North America, the YMCA organization is deeply connected with our roots here in our hometown of Almonte, Ontario.

As many are aware, the founder of basketball, Dr. James Naismith was born here in our fair town but what remains unknown to many is that the sport was actually developed elsewhere. In fact, it wasn’t until Naismith was studying at what was then known as the YMCA International Training School in Springfield, Massachusetts that he invented the game when tasked with interesting pupils in physical exercise.

While the school later went on to be known as Springfield College, the YMCA organization continued to grow and today has over 58 million beneficiaries.

In what was one of our most recent projects, we were once again enlisted to work closely with this storied organization, this time in the great state of Connecticut. During the late summer months of 2018, our team was contacted by N.A.C. Industries in Oxford, Connecticut who had been deeply entrenched in a number of renovations for a local YMCA.

While remodeling the gymnasium inside their facility, the organization was interested in some retractable bleachers and after communicating this with N.A.C., we quickly answered the call.

With a new partnership formed in New England, we immediately contacted our partner Brian Noyes from New England Athletic Solutions.

After communicating with the client directly, our team seamlessly designed the seating structure, along with custom colour configurations for the local YMCA.

Upon completion, the system was shipped to New England Athletic Solutions where Brian and his team took over the installation process, impressing both N.A.C. as well as the local YMCA.
