Poolside Bleachers Designed for High-Humidity Environments

Each bleacher system we design, supply and/or install is unique in one way or another.  While some are designed from the ground up, such as large-scale grandstands, others are solely designed to accommodate special hindrances and seating capacities.

Going beyond traditional uses such as stadiums, gymnasiums, and outdoor sports fields, we also supply a line of bleachers specifically crafted and suited for high-humidity environments such as aquatic facilities.

These facilities, often humid and wet in nature, require certain material and construction requirements in order to last a number of years; a point our team took into consideration while developing our innovative pool bleachers for use in moisture-rich environments.

How Steel Rusts

Steel is perhaps one of the most versatile and toughest materials currently manufactured in the world and can be seen in any number of construction projects.  From skyscrapers to motor vehicles, it is the material of choice across many industries.

That being said, one major drawback of the material is its susceptibility to rust.  Perhaps its only flaw, steel can succumb to rust in a number of ways, but the leading cause is the exposure of the material to both oxygen and moisture.

The chemical reaction known as corrosion is the root cause of rust and often forms on the outside of a metal surface that has been exposed to the elements for a certain period of time.  The forming of rust can occur rather quickly, often showing distinct signs of the process to untreated metals within 7-14 days.

How Our Pool Bleachers Resist Rust

Our aquatic telescopic bleachers are constructed using a steel under structure, much like many of our other bleacher products.  The difference being, these bleachers are completely galvanized, including the under structure. 

The process of galvanizing steel involves dipping the steel in roughly 860 degrees Fahrenheit zinc.  As the zinc is forged with the steel, it reacts with oxygen and carbon dioxide, forming zinc carbonate.  This process is used in many of our other outdoor products as well as everyday applications such as light posts.

Additionally, these telescopic bleacher systems are only available with manual operation.  Unlike our gymnasium models that can be configured with electric operation, the humid environment does not allow for it.
