Stage Mounted Telescopic Bleachers for Timmins High & Vocational School

Home to many sports teams and clubs including basketball, volleyball, hockey, curling, soccer and football, Timmins High and Vocational School approached us to design and install a new bank of telescopic bleachers for their gymnasium.

The scope of the job, however, was anything but typical. Usual configurations and installations of retractable bleachers consist of a bank of bleachers located alongside a basketball or volleyball court, giving the facility the option to seat a crowd or retract the bleachers for use of additional floor space.

The management at Timmins High & Vocational School had a slightly different vision for their newly acquired telescopic seating. This bank of bleachers was to be installed atop the stage surface for use with alternate events such as graduations, complete with outward facing seating pointed toward the gymnasium or crowd for spectator events.

The bleachers measured 52 feet in length and featured seven rows of seating for spectators. From the customization side of things, the bleachers were complimented with four recoverable notched-out areas to accommodate handicapped seating if and when needed.

The total seating capacity, including the notched-out areas worked out to 189 seats.
