While there’s nothing we enjoy more than building a better game out on the court or on the sports field, there are times when we take it indoors and enjoy some time with our esteemed partners.
With one of the strongest dealer networks on the planet, we’re admittedly a bit boastful of our dealers and all of the fabulous work they produce. From large-scale outdoor bleachers and grandstands to state-of-the-art indoor basketball systems, our team covers it all through our dealer network worldwide.
Earlier this month we were cordially invited to Gared Performance Sport Systems (formerly Performance Sport Systems) to take in their annual Architectural Equipment Dealer Show. The event took place just outside of beautiful Richmond, Virginia and the only thing that could have rivaled the beauty and charm of the Richmond area was the new venue in which the show was held.
Situated in the recently completed Henrico Sport and Events Center, it proved to be both a suitable and beautiful venue for the first show under the new combined entity that now is Gared Performance Sports (GPSS). This incredible facility boasts over 115,000 square feet of contiguous court space and a massive 39,000-square-foot event space with center court seating large enough to accommodate 3,500 spectators or staging and seating for up to 4,500 for meetings and events.
In addition to being VisitAble certified, the center is also home to four meeting rooms for collaboration and connection, four team locker rooms plus two officials locker room areas, a coaches room and mezzanine viewing area, a 4-sided LED scoreboard equipped with live camera feeds and sponsorship capabilities, box office windows for ticketed events, and full broadcast hookups including AV throughout the complex and a professional broadcast studio designed to send live event video, produced videos, and event information to enhance the fan experience.
Talk about a wicked venue for a sports equipment event…
Our partners at GPSS spared no expense, proudly displaying all of their models and putting on a show, transforming the complex from a basketball configuration to volleyball in a little under 30 minutes. Aside from the showmanship and impressive product line we’ve grown to trust for a number of years now, it was wonderful to connect with likeminded industry professionals from across the United States and get a glimpse into how things are progressing at sport facilities across North America.
Along with providing very good insight into the industry from their standpoint and a view of what is to come in this booming industry, we’d like to once again thank everyone at GPSS.
We are undoubtedly proud to be a part of all of the excitement.
