Telescopic Bleacher Replacement for Ecole Secondaire Macdonald-Cartier

It’s no secret; bleachers are a big part of our business and when it comes to true versatility, our telescopic and retractable bleachers cannot be beat. These indoor bleachers are typically found in gymnasiums, particularly in educational institutions that require a gym space that can accommodate multi-sport use, a variety of different events and spectator seating.

Our telescopic bleachers answer the call with their uniquely engineered ability to retract when not in use and provide valuable floor space to participants and program operators. While each gymnasium and space is different, these bleacher units are completely customizable and our design team ensures each bank of seating we install is just the right fit.

Our recent project for the Ecole Secondaire Macdonald Cartier in Sudbury, Ontario, featured an educational facility that was already reaping the rewards of a retractable bleacher system, but had since grown to require a slightly larger seating capacity.

The school reached out to us in search of a telescopic bleacher that could accommodate approximately 400 people, yet still maintain a safe setback from the action of the basketball court. Our designers quickly got to work and created a solution that would maximize the wall space and available footprint and eventually provide the school with 12 rows of seating to increase upon their current seating capacity.

These new bleachers are electrically operated featuring a handheld pendant controller and customized school lettering on each bank of seating. Also installed were vinyl end enclosures and safety corner pads on each bleacher end when stacked in the mezzanine, adding another level of spectator safety.

Below we have included a video from this installation. We invite you to have a look and watch this impressive seating solution in action:
