Located in Dieppe, New Brunswick in eastern Canada, École Anna-Malenfant is an all-french school that proudly preserves the region’s francophone and Acadian heritage through both academics and athletics. Serving as home to nearly 700 students from kindergarten to grade five, the school’s gymnasium is a hub for sports, assemblies and other gatherings.
As with many established schools and facilities, upgrading outdated equipment is always top of mind. In the case of École Anna-Malenfant, we were brought in to help replace and install some new indoor bleachers for the school’s gymnasium. The existing telescopic bleacher system was deemed no longer safe for operation and so we were contacted to come up with a solution that could continue to grow with the school.
Working closely with our friends at Interior Visions to get the project off the ground, we worked as a team with key stakeholders from the school to ensure the proper product was selected. While listening to their visions for the gymnasium, it became immediately clear that our Kodiak 2400 telescopic bleacher systems would fit the bill perfectly.
As the team gathered the appropriate measurements from the school’s gymnasium, our team got to work on the concept that could be presented to the school. Working with their requests, we mocked up two large banks of telescopic bleachers branded in the school’s colours.
In addition to being able to seat 464 spectators, these new bleachers would feature barrier-free seating sections with aisleways and stainless steel handrails. These seemingly small additions make a massive difference to those with mobility issues and allow for seating for all inside the gymnasium.
The bleachers were quickly greenlit by the school and our team got to work on the manufacturing process. Once the bleachers were completed, they were safely packaged and shipped down to New Brunswick, where they were met by our partner at Interior Visions for the final installation.
The installation went off without a hitch and was completed just ahead of the 2024 school year to ensure that there was no break in athletic programming at the busy school. The gym now features two very impressive 11-row fully motorized telescopic bleachers and yet another thing to cheer about this season.
