Headquarted in Mississauga, we were once again enlisted by our partners at the Dufferin Peel Catholic District School Board for some recent upgrades to one of their schools. Fresh off the completion of the installation of new telescopic bleachers for Father Michael Goetz Secondary School, the board reached out to us to complete another project within their 148-member school board.
Much the same way many of these projects come to fruition, the board determined that the time had come to replace the outdated and unsafe wooden retractable bleachers at Notre Dame Secondary School in Brampton.
Serving approximately 1,500 students across the Heart Lake region in Brampton and the communities of Caledon, Orangeville, Bolton, and Georgetown, the school has been in operation at its current location since 1988.
With outdated bleachers in their gymnasium, the school’s principal and athletic director grew concerned about the potential safety risk they could pose to students and spectators and came to us, once again, for the right solution.
Following in the footsteps of associates at Father Michael Goetz Secondary, stakeholders at the school selected our motorized variety of retractable bleachers and were interested in being very involved in the final design.
Following a public bidding process, our team was successful in acquiring the project and quickly met with school officials to hone in on the final design parameters. Following the design and approval process, the project carried on at a quick pace and was installed over the summer ahead of pending classes beginning earlier this month.
Today, the gym is adorned with a state-of-the-art system that allows for versatile seating options and that is completely customized in Notre Dame’s black and silver colours with the school’s initials proudly displayed for all to see in either closed or open positions.
