With spring officially upon us; most educational athletic facilities will soon be vacant for the summer months. The summer months pass faster than we all would like and now is a great time to start thinking about your summer maintenance plan for your facility. In doing so, you ensure your facility will be ready to rock come fall, prepared for the return of students and fall football.

Before the bleachers fill up this fall, follow these tips to ensure your educational athletic facilities are in tip top shape with these easy summer maintenance procedures.

Annual Inspections

This one is a given, in addition to your facilities routine inspections and maintenance, it is always a good idea to hire an outside infrastructure company to professionally inspect your athletic equipment and structures at least once per year.

Here are a few resources to help you along the way of routine maintenance and inspections:

Bleacher & Equipment Inspections

Get out and visually inspect your outdoor bleacher and athletic equipment systems.  A facility’s maintenance staff can easily inspect outdoor equipment for any potential problems that might arise.  Here are a few things to look for:

•    Loose and/or missing bolts and other hardware
•    Cracked or cracking welds
•    Bent or missing other parts
•    Bracing and supports

With any educational athletic facility, the next season starts when the current season ends.  Don’t let the summer months pass you by surprise, get out and visually inspect your equipment and as always drop us a line if there is anything we can do to help better prepare you for the upcoming school season.
