Named after one of the most prolific Canadian writers of the nineteenth century,François-Xavier Garneau, the École Secondaire Catholique Garneau follows this historical Canadian’s lead on continuing to develop French Canadian culture.
Located in the east of Canada’s Capital, the school’s motto revolves around the words of Michael Montaigne who said, “The gain of the study, it is becoming better and wiser.” Today, École Secondaire Catholique Garneau invites students to engage in a perpetual momentum of improvement, progress, and wisdom through the pursuit of knowledge and excellence.
Operating as a member of the Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est (CECCE), we were invited to scope a massive renovation to the gymnasium of this growing school. Looking to upgrade a number of pieces of equipment in the gymnasium, our team was invited to scope out the project, provide detailed recommendations and bid on the project as a whole.
Following the planning and scope phases, our team was proudly awarded the contract to provide the athletic equipment and infrastructure to the school.
With a growing sports and athletics department, the need for industry-leading equipment built to satisfy the needs of the school was in order. To begin with, our team designed two banks of telescopic bleachers which were placed along the sidelines of the gymnasium. Looking to seat upwards of 150 spectators inside the gymnasium, our 2400 Kodiak Telescopic Bleachers more than answered the call. Taking the banks of seating to another level of convenience, each unit was equipped with electrical pendant operation, making setup a breeze for staff members whenever the need for seating arises.
Moving overhead, our team designed and supplied six ceiling-suspended basketball backstops for the gymnasiums side courts and main court.
To finish the space off and to add another level of versatility to the gymnasium, we also supplied our lightning-fast top-roll gym divider curtain to the space. Separating the gymnasium, the school is now able to increase athletic programming in the space with the turn of a key (or two!).
