Working in sports comes with a variety of perks and one of the many perks, is being involved in huge sporting events across North America. From the Pan Am games in Toronto, to high school football games in Nebraska, we've been involved with too many events to be able to choose a favorite.
As part of an on-going project at the RA Centre in Canada's Capital Region, our team was brought in to complete the third phase of the RA Centre's Curling Center of Excellence. Serving as the host for the upcoming U-18 Curling Championships, the multi-year plan is finally coming to fruition and we are thrilled to be putting the final touches on the project.
With an outdated set of bleachers onsite, the RA Centre came to us with the need for a completely redesigned elevated bleacher that would afford spectators and unobstructed view of the action over the dasher boards.
Our team was first tasked with the removal of the old seating and the design and implementation of the new, barrier-free bleacher system. Given that the floor was poured concrete and had some areas with a raised elevation from the old steps), our team had to design and fabricate a custom understructure to work around the different concrete elevations.
Our installation crew is currently on-site working to get the new bleacher ready to roll for this excited event which kicks off on the 4th of February. We'll be following up with a completed project announcement!
