Held on a bi-annual basis since 1967, the Canada Games are celebrating their 50th anniversary this summer as they kick off in Winnipeg next month.  The games, being held in tandem with Canada’s 150th birthday, feature 16 sports spread across over 250 events during the 17-day event showcasing Canada’s top athletic talent.

The games are expected to draw over 20,000 visitors to Winnipeg, this year’s host city.  In addition to the anticipated visitors, Winnipeg will also play host to over 4,000 athletes and coaching staff members.

The events are scheduled to be held across 23 of the city’s athletic facilities and recreational areas.  One such facility and perhaps the most anticipated one is the Canada Games Sport For Life Centre, which is set to host the Games’ basketball and indoor volleyball events.  Located in the heart of downtown Winnipeg, this facility has been ten years in the making and was spearheaded by Sport Manitoba, the leading planning, programming, and funding agency for the development of amateur sport in Manitoba.

As part of the Games and Sport Manitoba’s involvement in the construction of this state-of-the-art facility, they reached out to our team to provide some versatile seating solutions to be used during the upcoming events.

Looking for a solution that could be quickly and easily moved, stored, and set up to supply additional seating, the organization naturally migrated to our tip and roll bleacheroptions.  These unique bleacher systems are small and compact in design and are easily ‘tipped’ on their side and ‘rolled’ into additional viewing areas or storage when not in use.

With the Games so close to kicking off, the organizers also wanted to save time on the assembly process that is often accompanied by seating products such as these.  Taking advantage of our convenient bleacher assembly service, these bleachers were professionally assembled by our team at our plant before being shipped.

What arrived at the facility was a turnkey solution for the folks at Sport Manitoba, the Canada Games Sport For Life Centre and the Canada Games that was ready for immediate use.

We would like to wish the very best of luck to all of this year’s competitors and look forward to the continued success of this iconic Canadian athletic event.
