While somethings can be considered timeless, not everything that is old is worth keeping. When it comes to the safety and functionality of equipment such as telescopic bleacher systems it is important to keep up with modern technology and recent developments.
Millard North High School, located in Omaha Nebraska, opened in 1981. Boasting a gymnasium capable of accommodating up to 2,600 spectators, their facility has hosted innumerable games and individuals over the last 40 years. As a school with such a storied history, it was time to take a closer look at the existing bleacher seating inside the gym and begin planning the future of athletics for the Millard North Mustangs. It was eventually decided that the bleachers were bound for replacement and the district began their search for the perfect partners on this massive project.
The project kicked off in the office of Pat Carson of BCDM Architects, who originally worked on this project on behalf of the school district. One of the first points of contact he made was to the esteemed team at Crouch Recreation. As a leader in athletic equipment and playground design across Nebraska, Crouch has been a reliable partner of our as well for several years.
The team at Crouch was quick to bring our team into the project. The discussions regarding size, configuration and installation immediately followed. Working closely with key stakeholders from the school including Principal Brian Begley and AD Chad Zimmerman, our teams worked in tandem to design one of the most impressive retractable bleachers in our organization’s history.
In addition to the massive size of the structure, the district wanted to ensure that the proper colours were utilized to make ensure these bleachers made a statement for both the Mustangs and the school district.
Following the manufacturing process, this impressive bleacher was shipped directly to Omaha and met by the installation team at Revered Builders, headed up by Ricky Woodrow. He and his team operated with a tremendous amount of efficiency and had this structure installed on-time and on-budget.
Pleased by the product’s quality, incorporation of the school’s colours, and the overall customer service provided, the Millard North High School AD, Chad Zimmerman, expressed his approval:
