Located in the southeastern region of New Brunswick, our recent project brought us to beautiful Dieppe. A small town that is technically a census metropolitan area of the city of Moncton, it was incorporated as a town in 1952 to commemorate the Second World War's Operation Jubilee, the Dieppe Raid of 1942.
As part of the construction of a brand new sports field at Dieppe’s local high school, Ecole Mathieu-Martin, our team was brought in to design and install a new grandstand for the forthcoming sports field.
Given that the field was set to be shared by the city and by the local high school, there were a variety of important factors key stakeholders wanted to ensure were taken into consideration during the preliminary design process.
They were in search of a large grandstand that could accommodate upwards of 400 spectators. They also wanted to ensure that each and every one of those spectators had a place to sit that would offer them the best sightlines possible to the action down on the field.
In addition to the seating, a press box was a requirement for coaches and announcers to have a bird’s eye view to call the action from. Working closely with our esteemed partners at CBCL Limited and their Moncton office, our team quickly got to work designing a beautiful grandstand, taking all of the requests into consideration, while working within the footprint of space we had to work with at the field.
Upon approval, the project was set into motion. Our manufacturing team got busy creating the grandstand piece-by-piece before shipping it directly to Dieppe for the final installation. Upon arrival, our team on the ground got to work installing this bleacher with an extreme level of detail.
When the installation process was completed, the city and the students had a brand new grandstand in which to cheer on their favourite team. The new grandstand was completely barrier-free complete with custom ramps, railways and cutouts for wheelchairs and other accessories.
One of our favourite parts of this project was the design of the press box. It was designed to have field access below so the players could run on the field from underneath the press box - adding a whole other level of excitement on gameday.
We are pleased to report on a project of this size our installation team was joined by one of our local Dealers/Installers Interior Visions. The installation team over at interior Visions assisted our own installers as there would be several trips required to finish this project in a timely fashion.
By all accounts the team of installers provided by Interior Visions consisted of a hard working crew that was eager to take on a new challenge. When some last minutes part arrived it was our friends at Interior Visions who made themselves available to put on the final pieces. Saving our team a trip to New Brunswick which worked out very well.
We'd also like to thank Marty and the entire team at CBCL Limited along with the City of Dieppe on another successful project.
