Last fall, we shared exciting news about the upcoming championship-quality baseball diamond at Argus Drive, part of the Town of Truro’s ambitious TAAC Revitalization Project. We’re thrilled to announce that the project is now complete, and the new ball field is ready to welcome players, families, and fans for the 2025 season!

The Argus Drive ball field is a state-of-the-art, senior-sized diamond designed to meet championship standards. Replacing the outdated field at the original TAAC Grounds, this modern facility boasts enhanced accessibility, top-tier playing surfaces, and a design built to host regional competitions. 

Since our last update, all bleachers have been installed, offering comfortable and accessible seating for spectators to cheer on their favorite teams. Sports Systems is proud to have supplied high-quality, durable bleachers that ensure safety and longevity, perfectly complementing the field’s professional-grade design. The park’s finishing touches—landscaping, fencing, and amenities—have also been completed, creating a welcoming and functional environment for players and visitors alike. 

The TAAC Revitalization Project, valued at $8.6 million, was made possible through a collaborative effort. Funding contributions came from the Government of Canada ($3.2 million), the Government of Nova Scotia ($2.67 million), the Town of Truro ($500,000), the Municipality of the County of Colchester ($350,000), and over $2 million in community donations. We’re honored to have played a key role by providing a number of new bleachers that meet the project’s high standards, ensuring fans can enjoy games in comfort and style.

The TAAC Grounds, now officially renamed the No. 2 Construction Battalion Athletic Facility, pays tribute to the historic all-Black battalion that trained there during World War I. While the new baseball diamond at Argus Drive stands at a fresh location, it carries forward this legacy of community and resilience, offering a modern space for future generations to create their own memories.

With the Argus Drive ball field now complete, Truro’s baseball community is ready to take the field.
