When university clients need to replace an aging gym divider curtain, they are quickly learning that the right company to call is Sport Systems. Our reputation for quality work and reliable solutions has earned us that trust, and in 2025 we received exactly that call from the good folks Trent University in Peterborough, Ontario.
After a few key stakeholders had heard of our solid track record as one of the best in the business, they reached out to find out for themselves. From the outset they made it clear they wanted to work with our team on this important upgrade to their gymnasium and were proud to partner with us to deliver a solution that would improve functionality and give the space a fresh, modern look.
Nestled on the banks of the Otonabee River, Trent University’s Symons Campus in Peterborough is a 1,400-acre setting known for its natural beauty and strong sense of community. Surrounded by the Kawartha Lakes region, the campus blends rigorous academics with outdoor access and a vibrant student life. At the heart of campus athletics and recreation is the Trent Athletics Centre, home to the Excalibur varsity teams and a busy gymnasium that supports basketball, volleyball, badminton, intramurals, and a wide range of student and community activities. Obviously for Trent’s growing athletics offering, the ability to divide that gym into separate courts is now essential for maximizing use of the space.
With one call we arranged a site visit where our team measured the space carefully and noted any challenges, allowing us to engineer a precise fit. A quote was promptly provided, and the university quickly approved the proposal that would see our team design and install a new Centre Drive gym divider curtain—our Made-in-Canada option.
The curtain features the school’s fresh new logo on both sides, creating a polished, branded look that matches the university’s identity. Once installed, leadership at the university was very pleased with both the appearance and the smooth, reliable performance of their new curtain.
Projects like this highlight why universities and schools across Canada continue to turn to Sport Systems. From the initial conversation through the final installation, we focus on clear communication, quality Canadian-made equipment, and results that support active, multi-use gymnasiums for years to come. Similar recent Centre Drive installations include projects at Truro Middle School and Mother Teresa High School.
