As we near the final weeks of spring, many children and youth have begun to count down the
days until summer break begins. While there is no shortage of activities available, parents still find themselves with the same annual predicament: who will provide supervision to all of these newly released students? Fortunately, many residents of Oshawa, Ontario are able to turn to BGC Durham for summer activities that are fun, safe, and reliable.
With two locations, BGC Durham provides the Durham region with the standard classes and
after-school programs that are common among such organizations. In addition to their regular offerings, BGC Durham hosts specialty programs such as their Ball at the Centre basketball club for teens. With increased programming during the summer months, BGC Durham also hosts several different summer camps for various age groups and interests.
Earlier this spring, our team traveled to BGC Durham's Eastview location to provide the organization with new, state-of-the-art Gym Divider Curtains. These new products were installed in their upstairs assembly room and in their downstairs gymnasium. We recently returned to continue with the renovations by upgrading their courtside basketball systems to complement their new gym divider curtains.
Our Steel Fan-Shaped Basketball Backboard with a bright orange border and trim was selected to replace BGC Durham’s old, worn-out systems. Complementing this product, our Scholastic Rear-Mount Hoops now serve as the target for each new unit. When compared to the old systems that were in place, these new units provide an upgrade to the gymnasium’s aesthetic while also enhancing the function and purpose of the gymnasium.
This minor upgrade to BGC Durham’s basketball systems will nonetheless have a big impact and provide welcome change to a gymnasium that will soon experience an influx of students over the summer. It is through small tasks like this that we continue to support BGC Durham’s mission and hope to help foster a love for sports.
