Founded in 1949, St. Alban’s Boys and Girls Clubserves over 2,000 members per year, not to mention over 1,000 others across 18 satellite sites in the Greater Toronto Area. It is here their dedicated staff and volunteers have been establishing a diverse range of programming including after-school programs, sports and athletic programs, camps, tutoring, mentoring and employment readiness programs for close to 70 years.
While we work with a number of Boys and Girls Clubs scattered throughout both Canada and the United States, this is not the first time the St. Alban’s Club has turned to us for help with improving their athletic facilities. Previously, we were commissioned to install a state-of-the-art gym divider curtain for the club and once again, the club’s stakeholders tapped us for our expertise with regards to padding their gymnasium and stage.
The club began by showing interest in our removable wall padding product, as it lends a certain level of versatility to many facilities. Just as the name suggests, this padding is easily removed from the wall for use on the ground for activities such as stretching or tumbling exercises.
As with all of our other projects, we offered our expertise and after an in-depth consultation, we ended up advising the club to opt instead for a permanent wall padding solution. While the versatility of the removable pads was certainly attractive to the client, together, we planned a permanent solution that would provide a better look aesthetically as well as one that would be safer and offer the facility greater longevity.
After receiving approval for the project, on-site measurements were taken and forwarded to our production plant. Upon the completion of the manufacturing process, our installation team headed to Toronto to install the new padding solution. In addition to safely hanging the wall padding, our team also performed the necessary on-site modifications and cut-outs needed to accommodate switches and electrical outlets.
The end results look fantastic and the client is pleased with the new look in their gym.
