If you’ve followed us for a while now, you would know of our long-standing relationship with the good people at Boys and Girls Clubs across North America. We’ve helped a number of clubs get set up for athletic play in their gymnasiums, providing them with new padding solutions, basketball systems, gym dividers and much more.
Given our proximity to the Nation’s Capital here in Canada, we especially take pride in servicing our local clubs with new equipment and solutions whenever the need arises. Having a strong relationship with our local clubs, we’re proud to participate in improvements whenever they reach out to our team.
One of the many perks of working with such an amazing organization, is the unique ability we have to be a part of their growth. Over the years, Boys and Girls Clubs, specifically the Heatherington location in Ottawa, has experienced exponential growth in all programming, specifically with their summer basketball programming.
Both BGC Ottawa and BGC Canada strive to make all programs, including basketball, “barrier free” and are offered at no cost for deserving children and youth in Ottawa.
With the steady growth in both recreational and competitive leagues, our phones rang and we once again answered the call. Given the proximity to our facility, we were able to dispatch our team quickly on-site to gather the necessary measurements the club required to safely equip their gymnasium with new safety padding. With basketball programming set to kick off this summer, the club wanted to ensure that the correct padding was in place to protect players from possible injury during play.
Following the on-site visit and measurements, the padding was approved by key stakeholders from within BGC Ottawa and the pads were quickly put into production at our manufacturing facility.
Sport Systems is proud to have turned around this custom order and installation quickly. Now with the pads installed, the summer basketball leagues can enjoy the new space in a completely barrier-free environment that welcomes children of all ages and walks of life.
