Named one of the best places to live in the United States by Money Magazine in 2008, St. Peters,
Missouri continues to top their list as a wonderful place to live with a reasonable commute to St. Louis.
As what is heralded by many as the crown jewel of St. Peters, we were recently brought in to aid in the design and installation of new arena bleachers for the St. Peters Rec-Plex.
Originally built in 1994, the complex went through a massive $18.5 million renovation in 2007,
nearly doubling its size to 236,000 square feet. That renovation included the addition of the Rec-Plex South facility while tripling the space for workout facilities inside the original building.
When it comes to amenities, there are very few places that can provide everything the Rec-Plex has to offer. The complex now contains a world-class natatorium for swimming and diving programs, NHL-sized hockey rinks, state-of-the-art fitness facilities and an indoor track. Operating as a hub for both health and athletic offerings, the complex is a welcoming place providing year-round programming for residents to work out, get fit and have fun.
We were brought in to help elevate the bleacher seating inside one of the rinks by our partners at Carrol Seating and through their office in Missouri. We worked directly with their representative Eddie Scheer who was instrumental in moving this project forward, assisting right through to the installation.
Having the original bleachers placed directly on the concrete slab, sightlines were a noticeable issue for many spectators As such, staff and organizers at the Rec-Plex found that the existing seating was constantly being moved around from place-to-place, leaving a disorganized look and feel to the otherwise stately facility.
Looking for a more permanent solution, our team got involved and introduced our permanent arena bleachers. With the proper rise taken into account, our design team always ensures that visibility and sightlines are carefully considered during the design and concept phases of indoor seating projects like this one.
Upon approval, the bleachers were safely shipped directly to Missouri and met by our installation
partners. There they were quickly and safely installed on top of customized raised platforms for the ultimate viewing experience.
In addition to the new bleachers, our team also designed a customized ADA ramp to allow those who use wheelchairs ample access to both the seating and the best view of the ice for all upcoming events.
