The François Dupuis Recreation Centre is located in the east Ottawa community of Orleans and aims to serve the community as a one-stop-shop for residents’ fitness needs. The new facility features a 25-metre, six-lane pool as well as a leisure pool and a dry sauna. Additionally, there is also a convenient fitness and cardio centre equipped with high-tech fitness equipment with the programming to match. Moving outdoors, the facility is in the process of establishing one of the city’s newest cricket pitches for community and team usage. Centred on a field that is roughly 20 metres (22 yards) in size, the city reached out directly to our team to safely and effectively provide some much needed [netting barriers](https://www.sportsystemscanada.com/netting/complete-netting-kits/) to the field. Operating in a residential neighbourhood, the proximity of the field to residences is actually quite close. To mitigate the risk of any possible injury or damage to personal property, we worked closely with the team at [Thunderbolt Contracting](https://thunderbolt.ca/) along with key stakeholders at the City of Ottawa. ![cricket-field-netting-francois-dupuis-side](https://blog.sportsystemscanada.com/hs-fs/hubfs/cricket-field-netting-francois-dupuis-side.jpg?width=500&name=cricket-field-netting-francois-dupuis-side.jpg) In assessing the design of the pitch along with the distance to the homes, together it was decided that an inclusive netting structure measuring 50 feet in height would be the safest bet for the local home owners. Hydro poles were promptly installed on the pitch where our team completed the job by stringing up the customized netting barrier across the expanse of the poles. As the project progresses, we all look forward to the prospect of cricket in Ottawa’s east end, especially knowing that neighbouring homes will be spared any possible damage.   [![New Call-to-action](https://no-cache.hubspot.com/cta/default/319534/2d5c57ac-9073-4743-b066-219cc1735f30.png)](https://cta-redirect.hubspot.com/cta/redirect/319534/2d5c57ac-9073-4743-b066-219cc1735f30) Topics: [Sports Netting](https://blog.sportsystemscanada.com/blog/topic/sports-netting), [Netting Barriers](https://blog.sportsystemscanada.com/blog/topic/netting-barriers) [![Share on Facebook](https://static.hubspot.com/final/img/common/icons/social/facebook-24x24.png)](http://www.facebook.com/share.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fblog.sportsystemscanada.com%2Fblog%2Fnew-cricket-field-netting-for-the-city-of-ottawa%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Dfacebook) [![Share on LinkedIn](https://static.hubspot.com/final/img/common/icons/social/linkedin-24x24.png)](http://www.linkedin.com/shareArticle?mini=true&url=https%3A%2F%2Fblog.sportsystemscanada.com%2Fblog%2Fnew-cricket-field-netting-for-the-city-of-ottawa%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Dlinkedin) [![Share on Twitter](https://static.hubspot.com/final/img/common/icons/social/twitter-24x24.png)](https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?original_referer=https%3A%2F%2Fblog.sportsystemscanada.com%2Fblog%2Fnew-cricket-field-netting-for-the-city-of-ottawa%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Dtwitter&url=https%3A%2F%2Fblog.sportsystemscanada.com%2Fblog%2Fnew-cricket-field-netting-for-the-city-of-ottawa%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Dtwitter&source=tweetbutton&text=New%20Cricket%20Field%20Netting%20for%20the%20City%20of%20Ottawa) [![Share on Email](https://static.hubspot.com/final/img/common/icons/social/email-24x24.png)](mailto:?subject=Check%20out%20https%3A%2F%2Fblog.sportsystemscanada.com%2Fblog%2Fnew-cricket-field-netting-for-the-city-of-ottawa%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Demail%20&body=Check%20out%20https%3A%2F%2Fblog.sportsystemscanada.com%2Fblog%2Fnew-cricket-field-netting-for-the-city-of-ottawa%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Demail) ### Subscribe to Email Updates ### Search for Specific Products or Projects This is a search field with an auto-suggest feature attached. - There are no suggestions because the search field is empty.
