Of all of the cornerstones of neighborhood life, there are not many that carry as much importance than that of the local community centre. These locations often serve as a backbone to their communities and offer drop-in basketball opportunities, open gym times, youth programming, family activities, and just about everything in between. Over the past 45 years, we’ve spent plenty of time in these types of communities and the centres that anchor them and always enjoy the opportunity to give back.

Working just down the road from our beautiful headquarters, we got the opportunity to take part in the development of a brand new educational facility. While we are not involved with the heavy-duty construction elements of a job like this, we were invited to participate in outfitting the gymnasium space with some brand new and state-of-the-art equipment.

After selecting a fairly comprehensive sports equipment package, our team was on-site and planning for this new gymnasium as part of the expansion of the Conseil des écoles publiques de l’Est de l’Ontario (CEPEO) here in the Ottawa area.

If you know our company history, you know we started our journey here in the town that raised James Naismith, with the sport of basketball. Since then, we’ve evolved into a wide array of sports equipment and infrastructure, but still take pride in transforming recreational spaces across the country—one hoop at a time. Whether it's a massive arena or a local community gym, we proudly upgrade them all. With that in mind, we're thrilled to share the successful completion of a recent basketball system upgrade for the Ahmadiyya Muslim Centre in Maple, Ontario.

One of our more recent projects with the City of Ottawa was an excellent example of this after stakeholders from the city reached out to our team with the goal of replacing the aging, manual wall-mount basketball units at the Routhier Community Center with modern, motorized folding systems. To top it all off, they also were looking at upgrading the existing backboards to professional and ultra-durable glass backboards.

As Canada’s athletic equipment and infrastructure leader, we're passionate about creating spaces where young athletes can thrive, push their limits, and build lifelong skills. Our latest project at St-Laurent Academy in Ottawa is a perfect example of that mission in action. What started as a historic convent has been reborn as a state-of-the-art facility, complete with cutting-edge basketball systems that will fuel the school's growing athletic ambitions. We're thrilled to share the story behind this renovation and how it helped elevate one of Ottawa's premier private schools.

We’ve done a wide array of basketball systems over the years in a number of different locations. From private residences, universities, colleges and high schools to community centres and summer camps, we feel like we’ve truly seen it all.

One of our more recent projects allowed us to continue to expand our portfolio of basketball system installations, adding off-campus student housing to the growing list. Located in the heart of Canada’s Capital, the THEO is conveniently located close to both the University of Ottawa and NIHN. Serving students from both of these respected institutions, the THEO exists to provide a safe, fun and most importantly, an affordable place for students to live off-campus.

With three campuses spread across downtown Toronto, George Brown College has been a respected institution in both the city and the province since its inception in 1967. Today, the college serves nearly 80,000 students in over 170 different programs. 

We’ve had a long-standing relationship with the college, having worked with them on a variety of projects over the years, we’re proud to have played a small role in the school’s overall growth. With a relationship that spans decades, it’s no wonder when key stakeholders from the college are in need of new athletic equipment or infrastructure are quick to place a call to our offices.

Well, it's officially 2024 and in case you haven't heard; Basketball is BOOMING.

Working, once again, with the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board (ALCDSB), one of our recent projects took us back to beautiful Kingston, Ontario. Lying at the mouth of the Cataraqui and St. Lawrence rivers, the city is known for its storied history and academic excellence serving as the home for Queen’s University, St. Lawrence College and the Royal Military College of Canada.

Having worked in the area across a multitude of projects, it’s always great to get back and continue to approve athletic facilities in and around one of our favorite cities.

We got a call from the ALCDSB as they were looking for some upgrades for one of their older schools. Located directly downtown, the École catholique Cathédrale was in search of some much needed upgrades to their existing basketball systems.
