Working, once again, with the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board (ALCDSB), one of our recent projects took us back to beautiful Kingston, Ontario. Lying at the mouth of the Cataraqui and St. Lawrence rivers, the city is known for its storied history and academic excellence serving as the home for Queen’s University, St. Lawrence College and the Royal Military College of Canada.

Having worked in the area across a multitude of projects, it’s always great to get back and continue to approve athletic facilities in and around one of our favorite cities.

We got a call from the ALCDSB as they were looking for some upgrades for one of their older schools. Located directly downtown, the École catholique Cathédrale was in search of some much needed upgrades to their existing basketball systems.

One of our recent projects brought us to beautiful Essa Township, located just southwest of the town of Barrie, Ontario.. Known for both its annual potato harvest and strong military presence thanks to nearby CFB Borden, the community approached us looking for solutions to some older bleachers at one of their parks.

Located at a busy local baseball diamond, the outdated bleachers were deemed unsafe as they no longer met the stringent specifications set out by today’s code requirements for bleacher seating. The township had plans of dismantling and disposing of the bleachers themselves and came to us for the plan with what to replace them with.

Located in the southeastern region of New Brunswick, our recent project brought us to beautiful Dieppe. A small town that is technically a census metropolitan area of the city of Moncton, it was incorporated as a town in 1952 to commemorate the Second World War's Operation Jubilee, the Dieppe Raid of 1942.

As part of the construction of a brand new sports field at Dieppe’s local high school, Ecole Mathieu-Martin, our team was brought in to design and install a new grandstand for the forthcoming sports field.

Proudly serving the National Capital Region for over 100 years, to say that the Ottawa Boys and Girls Club is a staple in the community would be an incredible understatement. The club currently provides free community-based services and supportive places for area residents across four full-service clubhouses located throughout the city, along with a number of satellite campuses.

We’ve had a long-standing relationship with the local Boys and Girls Club for a number of years now and working alongside them always gives us the added bonus of making a difference in our community.

As one of the largest cities in North America, Toronto prides itself on both having a vibrant urban life and including some much needed greenspace within its city limits. With a number of large parks and places to get away from the hustle and bustle, not many can rival the peace and serenity that lies within the city’s East Don Trail.

Running through the Charles Sauriol Conservation Area of the Don River watershed, the trail makes a wonderful spot for a morning or afternoon stroll. The original trail was extended by 1.4 kilometers in 2020, leaving visitors and residents even more natural wonders to explore and enjoy. A new bridge was constructed as part of the expansion which now includes a variety of habitats including upland forests on the valley slopes, open meadows, young trees and a wetland.

Bleacher Upgrades for the City of Oshawa’s Terry Kelly Field

One of our recent projects brought us to the City of Oshawa where our attention was turned to one of the city’s most popular recreation complexes. The Civic Recreation Complex was the brainchild of Terry Kelly, a man who enjoyed local sports so much as a young immigrant from Hungary, that he spent much of his younger years fundraising and raising awareness for local athletic programming.

In 2014, the complex was named in his honor, more specifically Terry Kelly Field. Set to host upwards of 2,000 spectators, the field was the pinnacle of the recreation complex and local sports. As time has marched on, the elements had begun to wear down certain areas of the concrete grandstand and seating. The bench seating that was originally installed was now beginning to dip and sag and while facility managers made some temporary fixes along the way, it was time to work with a bleacher expert to solve the issues once and for all.

Late last year we were contacted by an agricultural society out of the western United States. Having worked with a number of agricultural societies across North America, they had seen our work and reached out to our team to consult on a grandstand they had that was no longer code compliant.

Known as the Sublimity Harvest Festival, this annual event takes place in beautiful Sublimity, Oregon which lies just southeast of the state’s capital city of Salem. Celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, organizers were in search of the right seating solution to help local residents celebrate the festival safely.

One of our greatest assets as a company  is our ability to tackle incredibly complex and custom jobs. Our flexibility and ingenuity allows us to take on  a massive grandstand seating project, a netting barrier for a unique sports field or in this case, a gym divider curtain installed inside a cafeteria.

Of all the places we have installed a curtain in the past, which include gymnasiums with unique ceiling structures, size constraints or ones with stages, this is the first we have designed and installed for use inside a cafeteria.

Telescopic Bleacher Replacement for the Anglophone South School District

For a number of years now, we’ve been helping the Anglophone South School District (ASSD) in beautiful New Brunswick update and upgrade their athletic facilities and equipment. Serving as one of only seven school districts that service the maritime province, their role in shaping the lives of future generations is something they take very seriously.

Along with that role includes promoting health and safety across all of their schools and in their facilities. As we’ve mentioned many times before, a big part of what we do is assess aging equipment and replace those no longer deemed safe for use. A big portion of the unsafe equipment that we deal with are outdated telescopic bleachers.
