An "island community” often brings to mind images of warm and exotic places. However, these communities often exist a lot closer to home than we realize. Situated off the coast of Maine, in the Canadian province of New Brunswick, Grand Manan Island shares similar beginnings with most islands that were settled by Europeans in the 18th century.

Intentional planning plays an important role in our everyday lives. While spontaneity can be exciting, planning ahead helps us be ready for a myriad of situations and can lead to a more sustainable way of living. From meal preparation to time management, thinking ahead helps maintain healthy and efficient lives. Proper planning can also eliminate the unintentional exclusion of others. Anticipating the needs and potential limitations of visitors, York Stadium Park has taken action in creating a more inclusive outdoor environment for their spectators.

Prevalent throughout Canada and the United States, Catholic schools have come to be associated with order and high standards of learning. With fixed dress codes, clearly established ethics, and strong religious traditions, the policies of these schools often enable them to become leading
examples within the field of education. These institutions, such as St. Joseph-Scollard Hall Catholic Secondary School, have been providing quality education for decades.

Growing up, many of us took our local parks for granted. In parks with playgrounds for example, the biggest concerns for many children were splinters, bee stings, and the static electricity produced by going down a slide. There was minimal thought to accessibility, and these parks were embraced for providing a free activity for families. However, it has become increasingly evident that not every community has had the same accessibility to and experience with local parks.

Today, many cities are facing increased population density leading to more congestion, decreased air quality, water contamination and inadequate garbage management. Those seeking better access to cleaner and healthier living and available green space are moving out of dense urban centres. While historically regarded as an “industrial city” (Bowering), Cornwall, Ontario, has made notable efforts towards improved stewardship of public green space.

Located a mere 60 miles from the Mexican border, one of our recent projects led us back to beautiful Tucson, Arizona. The historical area is home to several landmarks, including the prestigious University of Arizona.

While the winter of 2020 was slowly melting away in eastern Ontario, our team was contacted by
our friends at the Peterborough Victoria Northumberland and Clarington Catholic District School Board (PVNC) as they were in search of the perfect seating solution.

Missouri continues to top their list as a wonderful place to live with a reasonable commute to St. Louis.

As what is heralded by many as the crown jewel of St. Peters, we were recently brought in to aid in the design and installation of new arena bleachers for the St. Peters Rec-Plex.

Today, society is becoming increasingly aware of the need to preserve resources. From
composting and recycling to refurbished furniture and repurposed fashion, conservation serves two purposes: this intentional act not only mitigates the depletion of resources, but also increases the value of that which already exists. Translating this concept from material objects to societal institutions, one may note the many benefits of merging neighbouring schools. The merging of Madoc Public School and Centre Hastings Secondary School in particular, has proven to be an excellent example of combining resources in order to preserve them.
