Our most recent project brought us to the historic De La Salle College “Oaklands” campus, which was founded in 1851 in the Greater Toronto Area. The college was originally inspired by the life and work of St. John Baptist de La Salle, fostering Christian virtues and principles inspired by the Lassalian movement.
In addition to premiere academic and arts programming, the institution is also home to a variety of athletic programs such as soccer, tennis, basketball, among other sports. The school’s athletic programming is bolstered by the athletic facilities, located directly on campus including an arena, FIFA-approved artificial sports field, a full gymnasium and outdoor sports court and a state-of-the-art fitness facility and wellness room.
After the school requested some assistance in updating and adding some bleachers and athletic equipment, we teamed up with our partners at The Davan Group; a premier landscape contractor specializing in the design and building of artificial turf sports field facilities, and got to work on the planning phases of the project.
In the end, the school ordered a pair of 5-tier x 21’ long angle frame bleachers that could accommodate seating for 70 people per unit. As part of the project, the team at Davan performed the design and landscaping, complete with elevated retaining wall alongside the sports field. It was among this beautifully landscaped area where our team installed the bleacher seating systems. In addition to the standard safety features in all of our bleacher designs, these bleachers were designed complete with a galvanized steel picket rear guard rail system to add another level of safety to the product.
To complete the upgrade of the outdoor sports field, our team was also contracted to supply and install a pair of portable aluminum soccer goals and CFL-regulation football uprights, with custom white powder-coated finish.
