A project that was nearly 12 months in the making brought us back to beautiful Montreal, Quebec. Working closely with key stakeholders from the English Montreal School Board which services 41 elementary schools, 17 high schools, 7 adult education facilities, 6 vocational schools and 11 outreach schools on the island of Montreal, we were invited to a tender for some new seating.
The public tender outlined the details for four sections of prospective retractable bleacher sections for JFK High School located just north of the city’s downtown core.
Instead of the original four banks of seating that were to measure 16’ in length and have four rows of seating, our team looked at another possible solution for the school. Thinking a little outside of the box, our team went to tender instead with a proposed bid that outlined just two banks of retractable bleachers that would measure 32’ and would feature four rows of seating.
Our bid was successful and the project was slated for completion in early 2019. As part of the project, our team was tasked with removing the outdated existing wooden bleacher seating and was handed a tight deadline for installation of the new seating structures.
As the bleachers arrived at the high school in late January of this year, the school’s principal reached out to our team with a special request: to install the new seating in just two days. With a special event at the school in just a couple of days, the principal was excited to get some use out of the new seating and our team was determined not to disappoint.
The bleachers arrived on-site and our installation team was quick to work extended hours to both unload the product and swiftly install it before the proposed deadline.
After a couple of long days, the seating was successfully and safely installed four hours ahead of the upcoming activity.
Our speedy service and unwavering attention to detail impressed directors from the school, prompting key stakeholders from the school board to reach out to our team to thank us for our tireless effort and for the wonderful new seating for the gymnasium.
