While the region spans a total of six diverse U.S. states, this project took place in the picturesque state of Maine. Located in Westbrook, a suburb of Portland, is the [Spring Harbor Hospital](https://mainehealth.org/spring-harbor-hospital), a 100-bed non-profit psychiatric hospital offering services for both children and adults. Part of Maine Behavioral Healthcare, the facility has three adult units totalling 60 beds, a child unit with 14 beds, an adolescent unit with 14 beds and a 12-bed unit for patients with developmental disorders. After some unfortunate water damage to certain areas of the hospital, the facility was undergoing some fairly heavy-duty renovations. In that project, our team designed a complete [padding solution](https://www.sportsystemscanada.com/collections/custom-wall-padding) for a small support room in the facility that had to accommodate an existing playhouse and structure previously installed in the room. With that project in the rear view, our team once again got to work for ANDRUS, this time on a much larger [sensory room](https://blog.sportsystemscanada.com/blog/calming-room-sensory-room-padding).  These rooms are used to create an environment completely removed from outside distractions and come complete with audio and visual aids, promoting extreme relaxation. Our most recent project came to us out of the beautiful province of Quebec in historic Montreal. One of the city’s most prominent rehabilitation centres was in the market for some very specialized wall padding for a particular room in one of its many locations around the city. The client was Le Centre de Réadaptation en Déficience Intellectuelle et en Troubles Envahissants du Développement de Montréal (CRDITED). An institution in the health and social services network, CRDITED provides specialized services for adaptation and rehabilitation for over 4500 people with intellectual disabilities and with autism spectrum disorder.
